About Me

 

This is my first year teaching at NBJH and I am very excited to be joining district 28! I come from a bilingual family and am a native Russian speaker. 

 

When I was 16 years old, I spent a semester in Barcelona, Spain, where I found my passion for Spanish language and culture. I received my Bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado in Spanish Language and Literature in 2012. I decided to spend another semester in Barcelona, Spain and also spent six weeks studying Italian language and culture in Perugia, Italy in 2011. I have traveled extensively through out Spain and Europe and have gained an insight into other cultures.

I am currently pursuing my Master's in the Teaching of Spanish from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I have four years experience in both a bilingual classroom and teaching middle school Spanish.

In my free time I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family, watching movies and television, and going to the beach.
